Chad A. Leat Student Scholarship Fund: Student Involvement and Leadership Center

Policy
Purpose: 

Provide scholarship Information to students.

Applies to: 

The fund is specifically for undergraduates at the University of Kansas, Lawrence campus who can demonstrate academic success, financial need and a commitment to fostering multiculturalism on campus.

How to Apply

Policy Statement: 

Requirements:

  1. Undergraduate student at the University of Kansas
  2. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 from the University of Kansas
  3. Demonstrate financial need. All applicants must have submitted the 2007-2008 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to federal processing (U.S. citizens and permanent residents only) OR submit the International Student Needs Analysis Worksheet to the Office of Student Financial Aid (International students only).
  4. Be currently enrolled at KU in the Fall 2007 semester and plan to enroll in Spring 2008.
  5. Applicant must demonstrate a commitment to fostering multiculturalism on campus where the dignity and rights of all individuals are respected.

Preference Will Be Given to:

  1. Kansas residents
  2. Applicants who demonstrate a commitment to or involvement in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.

How to Apply:

  1. Submit the FAFSA to federal processing (U.S. citizens and permanent residents only) OR submit the International Student Needs Analysis Worksheet to the Office of Student Financial Aid (International students only)
  2. Submit the attached application.
  3. Submit a current ARTS form or KU academic transcript with application.
  4. Submit a personal statement with application. Statement should be typewritten, double-spaced, 12-point font, and 750 words or less highlighting the following:
    • How have you demonstrated a commitment to fostering a multicultural environment in which the dignity and rights of all individuals are respected?
    • Campus and community leadership contributions and involvement.
  5. Submit a current résumé with application.
  6. FAX or deliver application form, personal statement, ARTS form/transcript, and résumé to the following:
