Purpose: 

To determine which students qualify for an application fee waiver.

Applies to: 

Undergraduate domestic applicants for admission.

Policy Statement: 

The University of Kansas has established a program to waive the cost of the admissions application fee for students that participate in specific programs when they apply to The University of Kansas.

To be considered for eligibility, a student must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Receives an ACT/SAT Fee Waiver
  • Participates in the Federal Free/Reduced Lunch Program
  • Participates in Project Discovery
  • Participates in GEAR UP
  • Participates in KC Scholars
  • Be an active service member or veteran
  • Participate in military reserves
  • Participates in one of the Federal TRIO programs:
    • Upward Bound
    • Upward Bound Math & Science
    • Talent Search
    • LULAC
    • Student Support Services
    • Educational Opportunity Center
      • If requested and approved by the Office of Admissions
