Applies to:

Incoming and current undergraduate students who are children of KU faculty and staff at the University of Kansas.

Campus:
Lawrence
Edwards
Policy Statement:

With the proceeds of a contract between Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Mid-America and the University of Kansas, the university has created the Coca-Cola Merit Scholarship (COKE) for children (or step-children) of KU faculty and staff (KU affiliates included) who meet certain academic requirements.

Eligibility

Students must be the children (or step-children claimed as dependents) of benefits eligible KU faculty or staff members (KU affiliates included) pursuing their first undergraduate degree: freshman, transfer and current KU undergraduate students.

Applicants will apply by either signifying on their application for admission that their parent is an employee of KU or a KU Affiliate, or by submitting the Coca-Cola application available on the KU Affordability website.

Incoming freshman must meet the minimum academic criteria of either a 24 ACT or 1090 SAT (verbal and critical thinking) and a cumulative 2.5 GPA, or a 21 ACT or 980 SAT (verbal and critical thinking) and a cumulative 3.0 GPA.

Incoming transfer applicants must meet the minimum academic criteria of a 2.5 transfer GPA.

Current KU students who submit an application must meet the minimum academic criteria of a 2.5 cumulative KU GPA.

Terms

The COKE scholarship will expire after four years of undergraduate study or upon earning an undergraduate degree, whichever occurs first.

Renewal

Recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA, be enrolled as a full-time student (12 or more hours), and a parent must continue to be a benefits eligible employee of KU or a KU Affiliate.  Renewal scholarship amounts are $500 (2.50-2.99 GPA), $750 (3.0-3.49 GPA), and $1000 (3.5-4.0 GPA).
