Scholarship Awarding Criteria

Policy
Purpose: 

The Financial Aid & Scholarships office will coordinate and award scholarships to incoming freshmen and transfer undergraduate students. Information below provides detailed steps regarding scholarship awarding and awarding process. 

Applies to: 

Any prospective freshmen and/or transfer students who are interested in being awarded a scholarship. Additional information can be found at affordability.ku.edu

Policy Statement: 

Prospective students must submit a complete admission application by the appropriate deadline to be considered for scholarships offered by Financial Aid & Scholarships.

  • Freshman deadline is December 1. Applicant must be coming directly from a high school and have earned no college credit after graduating from high school. If applicant has graduated from high school and attended another university, college, or community college, the applicant is considered a transfer student, and not eligible for freshman scholarships.
  • Transfer student deadline is May 1. If applicant had previously attended KU as a degree-seeking student applicant is not eligible for a transfer scholarship.
